Support for Schools

Would your students benefit from extra support outside the classroom to achieve their full potential?

Our team have substantial experience delivering individual maths and statistics support and teaching to a variety of disciplines. We can provide a range of packages to build confidence, boost grades and reduce anxiety around numbers through individual support and workshops on specific topics.

In person support is primarily provided at schools in or around Sheffield, but contact us about teaching/support in other areas such as Leeds.

Maths Support

Our experienced maths support team can provide individual support or targeted teaching for groups of students struggling with the maths content of their courses or revision sessions prior to SATs, GCSE or A level.

Maths clubs: Do your students have practice tests to do at home? Taking these tests with support on hand to explain questions they are struggling with can reduce anxiety and build confidence.

We can deliver regular sessions for groups of students at schools at a small charge to parents or hourly rate to schools.

Workshops

Are there specific topics students are struggling with?

Would students/teachers benefit from training in Excel or how to apply statistics to real life data?

We can deliver a range of workshops to students, staff or parents on key curriculum topics.

We know that many teachers are less familiar with statistics than maths and the curriculum often focuses on mathematical calculations. Excel is used by most businesses and is a skill employers look for but rarely taught in schools. We can provide additional teaching to introduce students or staff to applied statistics using real life data and Excel as well as covering core content needed for exams.

Anxiety about Maths

Many people have some anxiety about maths but understanding what maths anxiety is, recognising when it is impacting on learning and using strategies to reduce this anxiety enable students to succeed with maths or stats. Our team are experienced in addressing anxiety and have carried out research in this area to develop resources and group sessions.

As well as recognising when anxiety is impacting on learning and incorporating strategies within individual support, we can deliver specific workshops on addressing maths anxiety and building confidence for students, parents or teachers.

See our maths anxiety page for research and resources.
