Support for Institutions
A large number of undergraduate and post graduate students have some level of quantitative research in their dissertations but often do not have enough teaching within their courses to enable them to carry out suitable analysis. Academic staff can also lack the basic skills and knowledge to carry out their own quantitative analysis or supervise dissertations with statistical content which impacts on the quality of research.
Degree courses can also have a mathematical element which many students struggle. Anxiety about maths or statistics and higher failure rates in such modules impacts on retention and progression. With cuts to contact time and increased workload of academics across many institutions, support services will play a vital role in improving retention.
Our team have substantial experience coordinating and delivering individual maths and statistics support across at a variety of UK institutions. We know that demand varies during the year and recruitment of experienced staff to provide quality support can be difficult. We can offer regular or on demand online support for an hourly rate when you need it most. We can also run workshops on specific topics for a range of disciplines.
